東北大学では本年10月に，東北大学知の館，NICT等の支援により，
Universal Acoustical Communicationに関する行事を連続開催いたします。
　中核は10月22～24日開催の国際シンポジウムです。
こちらでは基調講演およびポスター発表セッションを開催します。
また，その前後に多感覚知覚（多感覚研究会と共催），音声・音楽情報処理，
聴覚音声知覚情報処理，音空間知覚と応用に関する4つのセミナーを開催します。
　これらのイベントでは，John Culling，Craig Jin，Fred Juang，Birger Kollmeier，
Charles Liberman，Brian Moore，Charles Spence，William Yostら，
国外の先端研究者20名以上と，ほぼ同数の国内研究者による講演を予定しています。
　セミナーの参加は無料ですが，事前登録が必要です。
またセミナーへの参加者はシンポジウムの参加登録費が減額になります。

ポスター発表をお考えの皆様におかれましては，7月31日までに，
200語以下の要約をUAC2018ウェブサイト（http://www.tfc.tohoku.ac.jp/program/2153.html）
よりご登録ください。
その後，8月17日に審査結果をお知らせいたします。

Dear colleagues,

The organizing committee of the Universal Acoustical Communication (UAC) Month 
invites researchers to participate in the events to be held in Sendai, Japan 
during the second half of October.

The main event will be the International Symposium on Universal Acoustical 
Communication featuring keynote lectures and a poster session for contributed 
presentations.
In addition, a series of satellite seminars are planned for focused discussion 
on specific topics.
The seminars will consist of tutorials, keynote lectures and invited lectures 
by selected young researchers. Distinguished presenters include John Culling, 
Craig Jin, Fred Juang, Birger Kollmeier, Charles Liberman, Brian Moore, 
Charles Spence and William Yost.

22(Mon)-24(Wed): Symposium on Universal Communication (main event)
20(Sat): Seminar on music, sound, speech and artificial intelligence
20(Sat)-22(Mon): Seminar on psychology and brain sciences related to hearing 
and multisensory processing (co-organized with Japanese Multisensory Research Forum)
24(Wed)-26(Fri): Seminar on brain, hearing and speech sciences for universal 
speech communication
29(Thu)-30(Fri): Seminar on the spatial aspects of hearing and their applications
