題目:The Development of Implicit Social Cognition (潜在的社会的認知の
発達)
概要:When do children begin to acquire knowledge about social groups
and rely on such information as accurate and valid indicators of the
social world? We began to study these questions 12 years ago and at
that time expected to see a gradual learning curve of category knowledge
acquisition and associated attributes. To our surprise we have found
quite consistently that even young children show evidence of implicit
social cognition that is on par with that of adults. When differences
between children and adults are seen on explicit cognition, we also find
that putting adults under cognitive load results in their behavior
looking much like that of children. These data, besides being of
interest to psychologists who wish to understand the core nature of
social cognition, are also of interest as we consider questions of
individual responsibility for the consequences of implicit bias.
